TPH Guest Post: Barton Health’s Cancer Wellness Video Production
Tahoe Production House works closely with the Barton Foundation every year to create a video that highlights a cause that they raise money for at the annual Barton Gala. This year, we shot a video about their cancer wellness programs.
We interviewed 4 patients and Dr. Heifetz for the video. We shot on location at Sapphire Bay, and could not have asked for better weather. It was great to learn more about Dr. Heifetz, and the leadership he will be bringing to Barton Memorial Hospital.
ABOUT DR. HEIFETZ, MD, FACP
For Dr. Heifetz, helping cancer patients has become his life’s work, providing what he calls “a wonderful sense of satisfaction.” After 30 years in oncology, Dr. Heifetz is still admired for his personal and honest approach.
He was a founding partner of Tower Hematology Oncology Medical Group at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, and is a clinical professor at UC Davis.
He has developed solid relationships with leaders from regional cancer centers of excellence including the Stanford Cancer Center, UC Davis Cancer Center, and UC San Francisco Cancer Center, among others. These relationships have proved invaluable for providing state-of-the-art cancer care in our local communities.
A musician in his free time, Dr. Heifetz plays the piano with a blues band. He is also on the Board of Directors and volunteers for Operation U.S.A, an organization that provides medical relief to third-world countries. His wife, Daphne Palmer, MD, is a radiation oncologist. They have two grown children.
Barton Health’s Cancer Wellness Program is devoted to helping participants reach an improved state of wellness through guided exercise, yoga + nutrition with support from our staff of physical therapists, certified instructors + registered dietitians.
