Meet the Board: Katie Zachariades – North Shore Director
Question 1: What is your favorite thing about TRYP?
I love that TRYP is bringing together young people who are passionate about Tahoe so we can support each other, be a force for the change we want to see in our communities, and have fun! I think it is great that it includes the entire Lake Tahoe area, especially bridging the divide between North Shore and South Shore.
Question 2: Since TRYP is all about Professional Networking, where do you work in Tahoe?
I am the Director of Operations for Tahoe Exclusive Vacation Rentals. I previously worked at Tahoe Mountain Lodging as the Director of Guest Services and as Community Association Manager.
Question 3: How long have you been a member, and what inspired you to join?
I have been a member of TRYP since September, and just joined the Board this month! I was originally inspired to join TRYP because it sounded like a chance to get outside my bubble and meet new like-minded people. I think there’s a real need for the opportunities that TRYP provides for young people, especially on the north shore, which is what prompted me to join the board.
Question 4: When did you move to Tahoe and what brought you here?
I moved to Tahoe in 2010. After graduating college, I didn’t really know what to do next and decided to spend a winter in Tahoe. Here I still am, 8 years later!
Question 5: Where is your all-time favorite place to eat in town?
Drunken Monkey in Truckee is one of my favorites. And if I don’t feel like venturing too far Spindleshanks is just down the road and has a great happy hour menu.
Question 6: When you’re not working, what do you typically enjoy doing around Tahoe on a nice day?
Running and hiking. Living in Kings Beach, I love the accessibility to so many trail networks right outside my back door.
