Make Sure Your Voice is Heard
As an independent organization, Tahoe Regional Young Professionals doesn’t take a stance on political or development issues. But! We want our members to get involved and make informed decisions that lead to positive community impact. After all, our mission is to Empower Tahoe. That’s why we launched our Civic Engagement Program.
civic engagement
For definition’s sake, civic engagement is the broader motif, encompassing service-learning but not limited to it. One useful definition of civic engagement is the following: individual and collective actions designed to identify and address issues of public concern.
TRYP keeps an eye out for important issues that can shape Lake Tahoe’s future, and then shows you how to learn more and get involved if you’re interested. Recent examples of TRYP’s Civic Engagement Program include partnering to produce the El Dorado County Supervisor Forum; our “How to Get Involved with Local Government” workshop and ongoing posts to our blog and Facebook page about upcoming redevelopment meetings.
